Every recipe your house cooks, in one place you own.

Tastebase is a recipe app you run on your own server. Everyone in the house gets an account, saves recipes from anywhere and leaves notes for each other. It's free and open source, and your recipes stay on your machine.

Bring recipes in from anywhere.

Each one opens in the editor, so you can check it before it's saved.

  • A link. Reads the recipe from most sites and brings its photo along.
  • Text. Paste a recipe and it's split into ingredients and steps.
  • A photo. Snap a cookbook page and it's read for you.
  • The browser extension. Works on sites that block imports and on subscriber sites you're signed in to.
  • Your phone. Share a link straight in from Android or an iPhone Shortcut.

Cook from a screen you can read across the kitchen.

Cook mode shows one step at a time, full screen, with timers and ingredient tick-offs. The screen stays on while you cook.

  • Scale it. Change the servings and the amounts follow.
  • Switch units. Metric or imperial, on any recipe.

Also in the box.
